CAPOEIRA

                                                                           Acrylic on Canvas (100cm x 50cm)

Capoeira is an ancient afrobrazilian fight popular in the north of Brazil. Dressed always in white, Capoeira fighters move themselves following the rhythmes of their ancestral roots and composing a dance coreography that has its origins in the black people when they were slaves in South America. They play tradicional instruments such as the typical Berimbao and the conga percussions. The rivals never touch each others: fighting gestures are camuflated by dance movements and the songs the musicians sing are spiritual songs.
